Math Class Grading Policy
In math class, homework is assigned daily. Because we learn math by practicing independently, homework is assigned as practice on the skills taught in class. If you find that homework is too difficult or too easy, please contact me so we can make appropriate changes.
Most homework is graded on a check-plus, check, and check-minus system. A check plus is a 100%, a check is an 75%, and a check minus is a 50%.
Incomplete homework or homework that is not turned in will receive a grade of 0%. If a student was present in school and did not complete the homework they must stay after school or serve a lunch detention to receive partial credit, otherwise their grade will stay at a zero.
When absent, students have one week to make up missed assignments for full credit. It is the student's responsibility to contact the teacher when absent to get missed work.
Grading Policy:
Tests- 35%
Quizzes- 25%
Classwork- 25%
Homework- 15%
Throughout the quarters, there will be make-up days where students can do projects and improve their grades. These will be announced in advance. Make-up days are a one-time only offer, and will not be rescheduled. Students will receive progress reports throughout the quarters so that parents may be able to see and take note of student progress.
